Clubs – Overview

Clubs are the lifeblood of football in the Capital Football region. For most of us, club football is our first and most influential experience of the game we love.

Vibrant and supportive clubs, fuelled by the passion and commitment of volunteers, deliver social and competitive football opportunities for players, coaches and referees of all ages.

For some, that experience at club level is a launch-pad to elite football and for others it is simply a way to keep fit, have fun and belong to a community of like minded people.

Capital Football is working with clubs in a number of ways.

  • Quality Club Mark
To help New Zealand clubs perform at their peak, New Zealand Football has created the Quality Club Mark. This is a national partnership with our seven federations as well as 17 Regional Sports Trusts. It aims to promote continuous improvement in the way football is delivered and support clubs as they adopt standards of best practice.
  • Coach Education
New Zealand’s coach education framework continues to expand and become more accessible to clubs of every region and free Introduction to Coaching Courses are being delivered to parents and volunteers.
  • National Registration Database
GoalNet makes registrations cleaner, faster and more convenient for volunteers and fee-paying members and give you free tools to communicate with your members. The NZ Football-endorsed
