Junior and Youth Coaching

Waterside Karori AFC is seeking expressions of interest from experienced, qualified, and enthusiastic football coaches to support and develop its exciting and expanding Junior and Youth team programmes.

Coaches will support our Junior/Youth Director of Football in delivering team trainings, football in schools sessions, school holiday programmes and club skill development trainings, and in particular:

  • delivering high level coaching sessions and game day coaching;
  • designing/planning training sessions;
  • contributing to the ongoing development of the coaching curriculum;
  • inspiring players to love training and playing the game; and
  • managing a consistent, challenging and fun training and playing environment.

Applicants must have:

  • Experience in coaching players aged 9 to 17;
  • Appropriate qualifications and a willingness to learn and develop as a coach;
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to ‘connect’ with players to motivate and inspire them;
  • The ability to run coaching sessions independently, and be reliable, professional and organised;
  • The ability to mentor players and develop pathways for youth players into the senior 1st team environment
