The government has moved our region into Covid-19 Alert Level 4 until at least 11.59pm on Friday.
Due to this, Capital Football has made the following decisions:
- As per Sport New Zealand’s Alert Level 4 guidelines, all football-related activities, including team trainings, are unable to go ahead at Alert Level 4. You can train at home or outdoor places, but only with those in your bubble.
- All Capital Football senior and youth football is postponed this weekend, with a decision on what games can be played at a later date to be made once Capital Football has had a chance to liaise with the relevant councils around ground availability.
- New Zealand Football are yet to make a call on the Chatham Cup and Kate Sheppard Cup, as well as the Central League (an NZF-run competition) fixture between North Wellington and Wainuiomata, for this weekend, but they are expected to provide an update on Wednesday, August 18.
- All junior football is cancelled this weekend.
- All futsal is cancelled tonight, August 17, with a decision to be made on next Tuesday’s games by Monday, August 23.
- The Girls with Goals festival on Sunday, August 22 is cancelled.
These decisions have been made with the best interests of the football community at heart and to provide certainly to all for this weekend.
For more guidance on what sport you can and can’t do at Alert Level 4, Sport New Zealand has the following guidelines:
- Organised sports or physical activity not allowed outside of your bubble.
- Can train at your home, or outdoor places that can be readily accessed from home.
- Lower-risk activities only: care must be taken not to be injured and require medical care.
- Maintain physical distancing (2 metres) with people outside your bubble.
- Contact activity or sharing equipment/balls with people outside your bubble is prohibited.
We acknowledge this will be a stressful time for people and encourage everyone to take care of each other.
A reminder to stay home, stay safe and maintain social distancing.
