Napier City Rovers have maintained their three-point lead at the top of the Ultra Football Central League ladder after a 1-1 draw with second-placed Western Suburbs.
Sunday's rain made for tough conditions at a sodden Endeavour Park.
Golden boot leader Martin Bueno opened the scoring for Napier from the penalty spot after going down under a challenge from Nando Pinjaker in the box.
Eli Just grabbed Wests' equaliser 10 minutes into the first half when capitalising on a backpass which held up in the wet conditions.
Wests looked the more likely to grab a winner late in the game, but were unable to find the back of the net.
At the other end of the ladder, Waterside Karori scored a huge win in their push for survival, beating third-placed Stop Out 3-1 at Hutt Park. Ryan Cain bagged another brace to take his season tally to nine.
The result put a dent in Stop Out's title push as they fell five points behind Napier with five games to go.
The win pushed Karori three points clear of Havelock North Wanderers after they lost 2-1 to Lower Hutt City on Sunday. Sam Johnson scored a brace for Lower Hutt to move his side six points clear of the drop zone.
Wairarapa United also put some distance between themselves and Havelock North Wanderers with a 3-2 win over Wellington United.
Wellington Olympic won their mid-table match against Miramar Rangers 3-1.
In the Capital Premier division, North Wellington have all but wrapped up the title and a place in the Central League playoff.
They beat Kapiti Coast United 2-1 on Saturday, while their nearest rival, Petone, lost 2-0 to Upper Hutt City.
Billy Scott scored a stunning goal for North Wellington, smashing home a cross with a spectacular bicycle kick.
That gave North Wellington a 12-point lead with five games to play. They need four points from their final five games to secure the title.
Other results saw Wests' reserves draw 0-0 with Island Bay United, Olympic's reserves lose 3-1 to Tawa, while Miramar's reserves hammered Lower Hutt's reserves 9-1.
In the W-League, Football Fern Emma Rolston scored five goals in Wellington United's 8-1 win over Western Suburbs.
That maintained Wellington's five-point lead over Wairarapa United, who beat Palmerston North Marist 7-1 in their match on Saturday.
Seatoun bagged their first win of the season when beating Upper Hutt City 2-0 in the other match.
In the Women's Premier, Waterside Karori kept their perfect record intact with a 4-0 win over Island Bay United.
They now have a two-point lead over Victoria University and Wellington United with a game in hand after the former slipped to a 0-0 draw with Brooklyn Northern United.
Wellington beat Kapiti Coast United 4-2, while Petone won the other game 3-0 against Stop Out.
