Capital Football is extremely proud to introduce the Female Referee Development Programme (FRDP). The FRDP, developed by Capital Football's Women's Development Officer Emma Evans and Capital Football Referee Representative Helen Mallon, will give female referees the opportunity to learn, develop and grow in the refereeing space. The limited placed programme is set to kick off on the 12th of September, with applications closing on the 31st of August.

The FRDP consists of formal and informal education for female referees, highlighting opportunities and pathways for those who wish to take their refereeing to a higher level, but also for those who wish to get involved with the community game. The fully funded programme will provide participants with New Zealand Football Refereeing Courses, informal workshops and 1 on 1 mentoring opportunities.

The programme has been developed with the specific aims to increase the quantity and quality of female referees, create a refereeing culture that is attractive to females and create a support network for referees where they can gain knowledge, ask questions and receive support on a regular basis.

Capital Football will hold a Q & A event on the 27th of August for anyone interested to ask questions and get a feel for the programme.

Capital Football is committed to the ongoing support and development of female referees in our region to support the growth and sustainability of women’s football. Don’t hesitate to get in touch with emma@capitalfootball.org.nz for more information or register through the links below for the Q & A information evening.
