WOMEN IN FOOTBALL | LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME 2023

The Programme

In partnership with New Zealand Football, the Women in Football - Leadership Programme has been designed for women currently involved in our game, who are our emerging sector leaders.

The programme has been structured around Capital Football’s Women's Strategy Pillar of Leadership to strengthen capability and leadership across women’s football. The programme looks at how to close the ‘confidence gap’ and challenge the biases that might be holding applicants back from pursuing their careers further. It is designed to create a leadership community of women who want to both increase their personal and organisational impact, but also arm them with the tools to deliver leadership workshops within their community/region.

By committing to this programme and being open to developing themselves, pushing out of their comfort zone and building confidence, candidates will amplify their leadership and increase their impact and influence.

The Women in Leadership Programme connects them deeper to their clubs/schools as well, with the club/school joining us on the journey and supporting the candidates through the programme. The programme finishes with project delivery which candidates will present to their fellow 2023 Women in Leadership candidates as well as their clubs/schools.

Candidates

This programme is targeted towards local women currently involved on club committees or administration teams, or emerging leaders who will lead our game in the future. We would encourage every club in the Capital Football region to nominate at least one representative forward. Candidates are expected to attend the Women in Leadership Programme in full and clubs to provide support as appropriate.
