Capital Football (CF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sandy Cumpstone to the position of Women’s World Cup (WWC) Legacy & Inclusion Manager.
Sandy comes to CF from the New Zealand Police where she has served for the last eight years. She is well known throughout football circles for her work on various committees and her advocacy for the female game both at Wellington United and through the CF Women’s Advisory Group.
CF Chair Helen Mallon commented “we are delighted to attract someone of Sandy’s calibre and passion for the game. The legacy that flows out of the WWC will be incredibly important and we have every confidence in Sandy and the entire CF team maximising the opportunity in front of us”.

Sandy stated “Having been in clubland for almost 20 years, I am acutely aware of the many challenges facing our clubs. With one of the largest footballing events on our doorstep, the momentum of women’s sport, as well as the plight of some of our youth; now is a huge opportunity for us to advocate for tangible changes and support for our community clubs, and to inspire the masses into the beautiful game of football."
Sandy will start with CF in late January 2023.
