Capital Football Appoints U18's Girls Coaching Team

Capital Football is delighted to announce the appointment of its head coach and assistant coach for the Girls’ Youth National League squad in 2024. Following on from leading the team in 2023 we are excited that Maika Ruyter-Hooley (head coach) and Connol Modd (assistant coach) will continue into the forthcoming season.

Both Ruyter-Hooley and Modd are familiar to youth and senior players throughout the region having held a variety of development roles in both the club landscape and with Capital Football.

Federation Development Manager, Steeve Sharpe commented “the feedback from the players and staff involved in the programme last season was outstanding and it makes perfect sense continuing with the excellent coaching team of Maika and Connol. They both have a tremendous knowledge of the girls and women’s landscape and will bring significant expertise to the team. Not only that but their personal skills make them the best fit to work with those players involved.”

The Girls’ Youth National League continues in the same format as last year, running alongside the Women’s National League, and it will begin the weekend of 21st September through to 16th November 2024. Capital Football will be in touch shortly with clubs regarding the opportunity to nominate players for the squad, and the remaining staff positions will also be confirmed.
