An exciting couple of weeks of Football

As we all but complete the League season, we look forward to a couple of weekends of exciting (and nerve-racking) playoffs. The next two weekends will see clubs battle it out to determine who will make the start line for the 2025 Central Leagues.

With the introduction of Men’s Central League 2 in 2025, we add to the usual Men’s and Women’s Central League playoffs with a festival of football at Massey University on Saturday 14 September.

The remaining four spots in Men’s Central League 2 will be determined by the winners of the four games. The games will be played simultaneously, kicking off at 2 pm,  on the recently upgraded Women’s World Cup facilities at Massey University in Manawatu.

On top of the playoffs this weekend, we also have the Women’s Central League decider on Saturday 7 of September at Karori Park. Wellington United Diamonds have a one-point lead over Waterside Karori heading into the final game. The two clubs have already qualified for the Women’s National League, starting on 28 September, and the winner will carry bragging rights along with the trophy throughout the National League competition.

Following the playoffs we have the Boy’s, Girl’s, Men’s and Women’s NZF National League to look forward to. Keep an eye out for more information on Capital Football and New Zealand Football channels.

We wish all teams the best for their playoffs and hope the Capital teams get the edge over their Central rivals and qualify for the respective leagues in 2025.
