Capital Football has announced the departures of two key staff members, Jamie Cross and Blair Noble-Duncan, both of whom have played significant roles in the organisation.
Jamie Cross, the long-serving Referee’s Manager, will be moving on to a new opportunity with Oceania (OFC), with his last day set for April 17. A true fixture at Capital Football, Jamie first joined when it was still called Wellington Soccer. Over the years, he has had three different stints with the organisation, with his latest tenure spanning several years as Referee's Manager. Throughout his time, Jamie has remained a passionate advocate for referees and a strong enforcer of the laws of the game.
Capital Football CEO Richard Reid acknowledged Jamie’s impact, stating, “Jamie has done an excellent job during his time with us. His dedication to the refereeing space has been significant, and we wish him all the best in his next chapter.”
Meanwhile, Operations and Partnerships Manager Blair Noble-Duncan has also announced his resignation after seven years of dedicated service, with his final day set for May 9. Blair began his journey with Capital Football in the junior competitions space before stepping into the Operations Manager role in his third year. His tenure in that position coincided with the challenges of COVID-19, which he navigated with resilience and professionalism. Over time, Blair became an outstanding competitions operator, earning respect from clubs across the region and recognition nationwide as one of the best in his field.
Reflecting on Blair’s contributions, CEO Richard Reid stated, “Blair has been an integral part of the team here for the last seven years and has done an outstanding job. Highly respected throughout the game, not only within Capital Football but nationwide, his contribution has been immense.”
Jamie and Blair’s departures mark the end of an era for Capital Football. Plans to fill these important roles will be shared soon, and further details regarding the future structure of the competitions department will be announced in due course. In the meantime, Capital Football extends its sincere appreciation to both Jamie and Blair for their hard work, commitment, and leadership over the years, wishing them all the best in their future endeavours.
