Wellington Olympic AFC Achieves Full Talent Development Programme Accreditation

Capital Football is delighted to announce that Wellington Olympic's Talent Development Programme (TDP) is now a fully accredited programme.

After running as a provisional TDP from early this year, Wellington Olympic has successfully achieved the New Zealand Football criteria and, following the appraisal process, has been officially approved.

With the continued success of Wellington Olympic’s Men’s First Team in recent years, the club has been focused on building a clear pathway from junior to senior football. Peter Ashby from Wellington Olympic added that:

“Over the past two years, we’ve worked hard to develop a youth programme that reflects the same high standards and ambition seen at the top level.”

Federation Development Manager, Steeve Sharpe recognised the efforts of Wellington Olympic in achieving the award and those other clubs delivering TDP’s in the region.

“Clubs offering TDP’s put in a tremendous amount of effort and resource to ensure their youth players have access to a quality pathway and provision.

We would like to congratulate Wellington Olympic in gaining accreditation and recognise the fantastic efforts of our other eight TDP clubs who deliver excellent programmes to such high standards for their local community.”

Wellington Olympic now joins Miramar Rangers, Western Suburbs, Island Bay United, Upper Hutt City, Petone FC, Stop Out Sports Club, Te Kotahitanga FC and Onslow/North Wellington as the ninth TDP club in the Capital Region.
