Capital Football | Developments for 2021

As we look to the end of the 2020 year and begin our planning for the 2021 season, Capital Football would like to welcome back Todd Bryant and announce Maia Vink as Assistant Federation Development Manager.

Todd Bryant returns to Capital Football in a newly developed role of Business Development Manager, whilst Maia fills the position last held by Natalie Lawrence.

Bryant, who left his role with New Zealand Football as Futsal Development Manager early this year, brings with him a vast knowledge of Futsal operations and previous experience at Capital Football as Assistant Federation Development Manager.  Tasked with funding, business sustainability and increasing members positive experiences, Bryant’s role will bring the opportunity to grow and develop Capital Football in new areas, accompanied with new challenges.

“I think the new role is extremely exciting, it’s a fantastic opportunity for me personally to learn and grow, and to also have a big part in continuing both the sustainability and growth of Capital Football” Bryant commented on his appointment.

“It has been a challenging time all around this year, so to get stuck in to something that is intended to provide positive experiences and enjoyment for our members and hopefully new members, it’s great to be a part of.”

Vink’s impressive work in the Women’s and Girls space see her take more responsibility across the Federation Development team. With the developments of the Talent Development Programmes, the Girls Talent Acceleration Programme and the rollout of both the Female Referee and Coach Development Programmes, 2021 will be another jam-packed year for Vink.

“There’s some fantastic projects coming up for 2021, and I’m really looking forward to being able to continue to develop not just the female football game, but all aspects involved with football”.

The excitement of the 2023 World Cup being held here in New Zealand, and even the prosect of hosting teams and fixtures here in the Capital, is a real motivating factor and such a fantastic time to be working in sport.  We’ve got 2 years prior to the World Cup to really lay foundations and create a special legacy for all footballers.”

Vink was also appointed head coach of the Capital Football ISPS Women’s Premiership team for the 2020, after stepping up from her Assistant Head Coach role in 2019.
